APPRECIATING YOUR QUALITY SOLID OAK FURNITURE

When you choose solid oak furniture, you are investing in the special value of natural materials. Since they come from nature, solid oak has a character that no man-made material can duplicate. Each piece of solid oak furniture is one-of-a-kind, and it will respond naturally to changes in your home's humidity. Solid oak, exchanges moisture with the air, adjusting to major changes in temperature and humidity
In furniture, solid oak responds to extremely dry air by, losing moisture and shrinking a bit. Tabletop halves may part slightly, without affecting the table's strength and sturdiness. They will close again under more humid conditions. Think of what happens to your skin during wintry weather. These conditions also affect your furniture.
Solid oak is a renewable resource. It is the purest expression of nature. Each piece of oak has its own characteristic colour and grain patterns. Trees grow limbs, absorb minerals, and other essential elements, creating the knots and other character marks you may see in your solid oak furniture.
No two trees are alike; no piece of oak looks exactly like another in coloration or grain variety, for this reason, solid oak furniture in the store's showroom will not be identical to the furniture delivered to your home. Each piece of solid oak furniture is unique colour and grain variations are natural expressions of the real thing.

YOUR FURNITURE IS ONE OF-A-KIND

RECOMMENDED CARE OF YOUR SOLID OAK FURNITURE
FOR A LIFETIME OF ENJOYMENT

DO´S

  1. Clean with any mild soap and water, buff dry.
  2. Use lemon oil only 1-2 times a year (place a small amount on a soft cloth, rub over surface, take a dry soft cloth and buff dry).
  3. Store table leaves flat, as close to the table as possible.
  4. Try to keep a constant humidity level in your home (plants help).
  5. Sand the bottoms of pottery, coffee mugs, etc., smooth, as they can scratch the table surface.

DON´TS

  1. Do not use abrasive cleaners or any polishes that contain silicone. (Silicone is the active ingredient in fabric protection and frying pan coatings. The silicones will penatrate the finish coat and will make it very difficult to refinish or repair.)
  2. Do not expose your furniture to constant bright sunlight. (This will cause it to yellow.)
  3. Do not store table leaves in the basement.
  4. Do not place anything in excess of 200 degrees on any furniture surface.
  5. Do not yank or slam doors, and avoid dragging your solid furniture, when it must be moved.
  6. Do not use chairs as stepping stools.
  7. Do not expose your furniture to extreme changes in humidity.
  8. Do not place plants on your furniture (water can seep underneath).
  9. If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to call us, as we would be glad to help.
